Repti Fresh Odor Eliminating Substrate
REPTI FRESH® is the first odor eliminating substrate for use in reptile terrariums.
It is a natural mineral substrate that absorbs odors in the terrarium.
REPTI FRESH® can be used with the following types of reptiles: Bearded Dragons, Leopard Geckos, Uromastyx Lizards, desert species of skinks, geckos, Agamid Lizards and Sand Boas. Can also be used as a “mix-in” with Zoo Med Repti Sand, Vita-Sand or Excavator Clay Burrowing Substrate to help reduce odors.
INSTRUCTIONS Pour contents of bag into the bottom of terrarium. The ReptiFresh® sand should be at least 1½ to 2" (4 to 5 cm) in depth. Add more for burrowing species such as Sand Boas or Sandfish Lizards. Clean out debris as needed with Zoo Med’s Repti Sand Scooper or spoon. Replace your ReptiFresh® substrate if a foul or musty odor persists or at least every 6 to 12 months.
HELPFUL HINTS Reptitherm UTH Heater: When using an undertank type pad heater with any type of “sand” substrate we recommend you put a layer of Zoo Med’s Eco Carpet or Repti Carpet down first, then add the ReptiFresh® on top. This prevents burrowing reptiles from resting directly above the heater, resulting in possible burns.
Provide a dish of Zoo Med’s Repti Calcium to prevent consumption of the ReptiFresh® substrate in Desert Gecko and other reptile species.
Add a humidified shelter (Zoo Med’s Repti Shelter) for proper shedding, respiratory functions and to prevent water loss.
